This website and HIPAA
HIPAA, the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, protects health information held by health care providers and health plans. This website is educational. It isn't a patient portal and doesn't store medical records.
Your care at the practice
When you are a patient of Dermatology & Skin Health, your health information is protected under HIPAA and described in the practice's Notice of Privacy Practices. You can ask the practice for a copy at any visit.
Please keep health details out of email and forms
Email and website forms aren't a secure way to share medical information. When you write to [email protected], please include only what's needed to arrange an appointment, such as your name and a general reason for the visit.
Your rights
Under HIPAA, patients generally have the right to see and get a copy of their health records, ask for corrections, and learn how their information has been shared. Ask the practice how to make a request.
Complaints
If you believe your health information privacy rights have been violated, you can contact the practice, or file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights (opens in a new tab).
